Susan Hohnbaum was first elected to Position 1 in 2008. Susan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, with a Spanish minor, from University of Houston . She is the Administration Manager for Harris Construction Company, Ltd. and was a Fort Bend ISD teacher for 22 years, and an instructional technology specialist for five years. During that time, she was involved in ELA curriculum writing and taught numerous workshops and invservices for FBISD and was a district finalist for Teacher of the Year. She has volunteered extensively in the schools and community, and has served on the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for four years, and is a 2002 graduate of the Fort Bend Chamber Leadership Forum. Currently, Susan serves on Townewest Elementary's CBLT committee, and Ft. Bend Achieve Task Force. She has lived with her family in Sugar Land since 1978. Her sons, Cody and Brett Burgin, attended Ft. Bend ISD schools and graduated from Kempner High School in 1999 and 2000, respectively. Susan is married to Dan Hohnbaum who has worked in FBISD for 19 years. Dan’s son, Kyle, currently attends Sugar Land Middle School.
