| In a unanimous vote of support, the Fort Bend ISD
Board of Trustees at its August 27 regular business meeting called
for a $428,000,000 bond referendum to be held November 6, 2007.
The total bond package, developed this summer by a Bond Steering
Committee comprised of community members and staff, provides:
- $252,700,000 for eight new campuses and land purchases to support
annual increases in student enrollment and relieve overcrowding,
- $139,000,000 for renovations and new support facilities including:
Natatorium Practice Pool Facility, Head Start Community Center,
Electrical and Air Conditioning upgrades as part of an Early Childhood
Center at Missouri City Middle School,
- $23,600,000 for major technology improvements,
- $11,200,000 to purchase new school buses, and
- $1,500,000 for new equipment and upgrades to address campus security.
