Guidelines for Approval of (Flyers) Non-School Literature

The Fort Bend ISD Community Relations Department is responsible for reviewing and approving the distribution of non-school literature (flyers) from external groups or organizations to campuses.

Please read and adhere to all of the following guidelines before requesting approval:

1.  A copy of the flyer must accompany the request for approval and be emailed or faxed to Trina Reed in Community Relations:  Email:trina.reed@fortbendisd.com or Fax: 281.327.1101.

2.  Before approval, all flyers must have the following disclaimer statement appear on the bottom of the flyer in bold lettering:

Fort Bend Independent School District has approved the distribution of this non-school literature at campuses in accordance with procedures established by the campus principal.  This organization and its activities are not related to or sponsored by Fort Bend ISD.

3.  An approval letter issued by Community Relations must accompany the flyer when presented to the campus. The school district’s email system may not be used to distribute flyers or any other non-district communications.   

Please note:

• Flyers will not be accepted for approval during the summer when school is not in session.
• Flyers will be accepted September 8, 2009 – December 4, 2009 and January 19, 2010 – May 19, 2010.
• Once a flyer is submitted for approval, you will receive notification within two days.

4.  These procedures are to be repeated each time the organization wishes to distribute flyers at any Fort Bend ISD school or facility, even if it is within the same school year.

5.  If at any time it is determined that previous non-school related literature presented for approval contained false information or did not accurately represent the intent of the program, the approval of future material submitted by the requesting organization may be jeopardized.
