Academies are personalized, small learning communities that function within a larger high school with a mixture of career and academic classes offered to students. Enrollment of approximately 400 students is eventually anticipated for each academy.
Students attending academies generally take more advanced courses in their areas of specialization and have the opportunity to earn college credit.

Please read the letter below, which will be distributed to all current Academy students, detailing the revised Academy Bus Transportation plan for the 2014-2015 school year.
Academy Bus Transportation – Parent Communication
Important Notice(12/06/13): Fort Bend ISD administration has conducted external audits reviewing several programs over the past two years. A recent audit conducted by TASBO (Texas Association of School Business Officials) recommended that Academy transportation be discontinued. The administration does not wish to eliminate transportation and is recommending a satellite bus stop system used by most districts that host magnet or Academy programs. This will allow transportation to and from a student’s home campus thereby eliminating numerous bus stops and saving the district revenue that can be reallocated in other areas. Below is a power point shared with Academy parents at a meeting held on December 4, 2013. Following the meeting, FBISD administration listened to concerns and took suggestions from many parents. District officials will be looking at these suggestions, associated costs and meeting again to make a final decision by early January, at the latest.
