Education Expedition

Austin High School’s student council representatives Corinne Mason and Leah Forest accept the Best Rest Stop award for the 2009 Schlumberger Education Expedition.

On Saturday, March 28th, the Fort Bend Education Foundation held its sixth annual Schlumberger Education Expedition bike ride.  Nearly 665 riders gathered at Hightower High School for this BP MS 150 recommended training ride.  As a result of this successful ride the Foundation raised almost $24,000 benefiting the Fort Bend Education Foundation grants to teachers and schools programs.

Water stations were staffed by volunteers from local schools and groups.  They were vying for the Best Water Station award.  Austin High School’s Student Council won the award.  Go bulldogs!

At the end of the ride, riders were able to enjoy a scrumptious lunch that was catered by Subway and Bravos Mexican Restaurant; as well as great music.

We want to thank all of the riders who supported the Fort Bend Education Foundation.  We hope to see you again next year!  For more information about the Fort Bend Education Foundation visit our website at www.fortbendisd.com/foundation.
