• Spending Plan: Board Approved

The Spending Plan, which requires approval from the Board of Trustees, outlines the allocation of TIA funds that the district receives from TEA as teachers earn designations. In Fort Bend ISD, the approved spending plan states that 90% of the generated allotment go to the teacher who earned the designation. The remaining 10% of funds will support the ongoing administration costs of TIA such as assessment costs, professional development, and recruitment.

The 90/10 model that FBISD has adopted meets the TEA statutory requirements for how TIA funding is allocated in a local designation system and aligns with neighboring districts in an approved local designation system who have also adopted the 90/10 model.

Fort Bend ISD’s second district priority is to create and sustain a culture and climate of professionalism, accountability, and communication where stakeholders are valued, inspired, and engaged. By allocating 90% of the allotment amount to teachers who earn a designation, we are better equipped to recruit, retain, and reward top-tier educators into our Fort Bend ISD family.
